Network for the Availability of Scientific Publications

The International Network for the Availability of Scientific Publications (INASP) was established in 1992 by the International Council for Science (ICSU) as a cooperative network of partners who seek to improve the flow of information within and between countries, with particular emphasis on the needs of developing and transitional countries, especially those with less developed systems of publication and dissemination.

INASP work with partners and networks around the world to encourage the creation and production of information, to promote sustainable and equitable access to information, to foster collaboration and networking, and to strengthen local capacities to manage and use information and knowledge. As a result of discussions with research partners and librarians in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the New Independent States, the Programme for the Enhancement of Research Information (PERI) was born. PERI supports capacity building in the research sector in developing and transitional countries by strengthening the production, access and dissemination of information and knowledge.

For subscription year 2016, Springer cooperates with INASP very closely in the PERI programme by offering an "Enhanced Package" of 1,945 e-journal titles, plus an additional 66 new-start 2015 and 2016 e-journal titles. In addition, Springer offers the options of low fee access to Adis (Pharmaceutical Sciences) eJournals, Adis eJournal Archives, Springer Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS), LNCS Archives and for the first time in 2016 we introduce 20 new Springer Nature ebook subject collections (in total 9,500+ new Copyright Year 2016 ebooks). All these listed products are available either to National Consortiums for country-wide access, or to indiviual institutions for special 'low-fee' pricing.
