Springer Handbook of Robotics wins PROSE Award

AAP PROSE winners

During the Annual Conference of the Professional and Scholarly Publishing (PSP) Division of the Association of American Publishers (AAP) in Washington, DC, the winners of the 2008 American Publishers Awards for Professional and Scholarly Excellence (The PROSE Awards) were announced.
The winners were determined by a distinguished panel of 15 PROSE judges that included publishing professionals from such PSP member companies as McGraw-Hill, Wiley-Blackwell, and The Johns Hopkins University Press, and librarians and academics from universities such as the University of Arizona, the University of Toronto, New York University and Columbia University.
During the award ceremony on 5 February, the excitement grew during the announcements of the actual awards, and we are pleased to announce that the Springer Handbook of Robotics won the Award for Excellence in Physical Sciences & Mathematics as well as in the subcategory Engineering & Technology!
We congratulate not only the Handbook editors, Bruno Siciliano and Oussama Khatib, but also our own editorial staff that helped this book see the light of day: Tom Ditzinger, Dieter Merkle, Heather King, Werner Skolaut, Renate Hueser, Renate Bayaz and Joan Robinson.
