Iranian Journal of Science and Technology, Transaction A, Science (IJSTS) is devoted to original research articles of moderate length, in a broad spectrum of Biology, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, and Physics. To be publishable in IJSTS, a manuscript should address new and significant scientific research. Furthermore, it must be well written and of interest to a considerable segment of scientific community. Lab reports, case studies, piecemeal results, and minor variations of known methods or results, are not acceptable for publication in IJSTS. Invited surveys of scientific developments in a subject of current interest are occasionally published in IJSTS.

All submitted manuscripts are considered subject to the understanding that they have not been published before in any form and are not being considered for publication elsewhere. In particular manuscripts that have been published in conference proceedings, should not be submitted for publication in IJSTS. All submitted manuscripts are reviewed by editorial board and if they are judged acceptable for further consideration, they are subject to double blind peer review by independent, anonymous experts of the field.

Articles must be written in English, do not exceed 15 pages in the IJSTS format, and must contain subject classification according to the guidelines of its relevant section. IJSTS is divided into five sections, listed below, each with its own guidelines, in addition to the aforementioned general framework of IJSTS.

    Journal sections

    1. Biology

The editors of Biology section welcome submission of original manuscripts in all fields of Biology. In particular manuscripts on the biotechnology, cell and molecular biology, biochemistry, physiology, systematics and taxonomy, ecology and conservation, developmental biology, systems biology and computational modeling are considered for publication in IJSTS.

    2. Chemistry

IJSTS welcomes original contributions of fundamental research in all branches of chemistry. In particular the editors consider all submitted manuscripts on the analytical, inorganic, organic, nano, physical and polymer chemistry, for publication in IJSTS.

    3. Geology

IJSTS covers a wide spectrum of geological disciplines and earth sciences, both theoretical and experimental. In particular, manuscripts in the subjects of tectonics and structural geology, geophysics, geochemistry, mineralogy, petrology, paleontology, hydrogeology, economics and environmental geology are considered for publication in IJSTS.

    4. Mathematics

IJSTS publishes mathematics articles which contribute new information to a topic of algebra, analysis, differential equations, geometry, optimization, probability and statistics. Each article at the time of submission must include 2010 Mathematics Subject Classification code. A full list of these codes can be found at http://www.ams.org/msc.

A full list of these codes can be found at http://www.ams.org/msc.

    5. Physics

IJSTS publishes research papers which make significant advances in physics that are either theoretical or experimental. Topics which are covered include, atomic and molecular physics, condensed matter, elementary particles and fields, nuclear physics, gases and plasmas, electromagnetism and optics, mathematical physics, interdisciplinary, classical, and applied physics, relativity and cosmology, statistical mechanics and thermodynamics, quantum physics and quantum computing, gravitation and string theory, biophysics, astronomy and space physics, and astrophysics.
