Open access agreement for Austrian authors
Members of the Austrian Academic Library Consortium and the Austrian Science Fund established an agreement with Springer which includes access to more than 2,000 of Springer’s subscription journals as well as allowing authors to publish open access in subscription journals.
The Open Access agreement covers the open access charge for affiliated corresponding authors in those subscription-based journals that are offering the hybrid open access option Open Choice.

How can I (being the corresponding author) identify myself as affiliated with a participating Austrian institute?
Once your article is accepted, Springer will send you a link to the MyPublication form. There you will be asked to state your affiliation. Then you will be asked to agree to the open access terms. During the production process, Springer and your institution will verify your eligibility. When publishing your article under this agreement, please ensure that your institute is shown in the PDF. Please note that color in print charges are not covered by this agreement.
As the corresponding author, you are advised to use your institutional email address instead of your private email address. This enables Springer to better identify you as eligible under this agreement.

The corresponding author is defined as:
the person who handles the manuscript and correspondence during the publication process – from manuscript correction and proof reading, to handling the revisions and re-submission of revised manuscripts up to the acceptance of the manuscripts. The author has the authority to act on behalf of all co-authors in all matters pertaining to publication of the manuscript including supplementary material. The corresponding author is responsible for obtaining such agreements and for informing the co-authors of the manuscript’s status throughout the submission, review, and publication process. In addition, the corresponding author also acts as the point of contact for any enquiries after the paper is published.
