About the authors
Dr. Shuo Yin has been an Assistant Professor at the Department of Mechanical & Manufacturing Engineering, Trinity College Dublin, since January 2019. His current research focuses on additive manufacturing processes, including cold spraying (CS), selective laser melting (SLM) and digital light processing (DLP). He has been actively involved in the field of cold spray processes for more than 10 years. He received his B.E. and Ph.D. from Dalian University of Technology in 2007 and 2013, respectively, and from 2013 to 2015, he worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Technology of Belfort Montbeliard in France and Wageningen University in the Netherlands. He was then appointed as a Research Fellow at the Department of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering at Trinity College Dublin. In 2017, he was awarded a prestigious Government of Ireland Postdoctoral (GOIPD) Research Fellowship sponsored by the Irish Research Council (IRC). Early this year, he passed the first round review of the most prestigious European research funding, 2020 ERC Starting Grant, and is now waiting for the outcome of the final round review. He has published more than 80 papers in leading peer-reviewed journals, including Progress in Materials Science, Acta Materialia, Scripta Materialia, Additive Manufacturing. Of these, one paper was selected as an ESI hot paper (top 1‰) and one was selected as an ESI highly cited paper (top 1%) by Clarivate. His publications have been cited nearly 1800 times according to “Google Scholar”. He is currently severing as guest editor of the “Journal of Thermal Spray Technology” and “Coatings”, an editor of “Advances in mathematical physics” and as a reviewer for more than 30 journals.
Rocco Lupoi received his PhD from the University of Bath (UK) in 2008. He has been an Assistant Professor at the Department of Mechanical, Manufacturing and Biomedical Engineering, Trinity College Dublin, since July 2012. His current research focuses on additive manufacturing processes, including cold spraying (CS), selective laser melting (SLM), metallic coatings and laser based processes based upon matter ablation.
