Springer Book Archives project
As you may be aware, all books published by Springer from 2006 onwards are available electronically in addition to print format. In an exciting new development, Springer is launching an initiative to digitize thousands of Springer books that are currently only available in print!
The project, called Springer Book Archives, will be announced soon and will enable many of the books in Springer’s print catalog to be available electronically. Books published as part of this archive will enjoy the same features and benefits as new publications, including:
- Accessibility via SpringerLink for millions of readers around the world
- Compatibility for use on other online platforms and mobile reading devices
- Ongoing availability for researchers – today and in the future. With Springer Book Archives, your book will never “go out of print.”
Make your book part of this archiving initiative!
Books that we plan to digitize have been included in a title list, which can be viewed at
We are working hard to reach out to all authors whose books should be included. Just in case you have not received a personal notification, we would like to ask you to check this list to see if your books have been included. If so, please contact us using the online form supplied so that we can clarify the electronic publishing rights and royalties. Following this clarification, we can begin the digitization process. Our aim is to publish these new eBooks throughout 2012.
Accessing Springer Book Archives
Librarians around the world have embraced our Book Archives initiative, recognizing that it will help them to provide a better, more comprehensive service to their patrons. At the time of the launch, the Archives will be available as an entire collection for institutions to purchase, meaning that currently authors will only be able to access the digital version of their books if their institution has purchased the Archives. However, we believe that this initiative will significantly extend the reach of your work to a far greater audience than is currently possible, increasing the potential for citations and recognition that our authors deserve.
