CHI Academy member & Lifetime Service Award winner 2013 

SIGCHI identifies and honors leaders and shapers of the field of human-computer interaction with the SIGCHI Awards. They recognize individuals who have contributed to the advancement of the field of human-computer interaction.
This year two Springer authors are amongst the winners: Clarisse de Souza and Joseph A. Konstan.
The ceremony of the award and nomination will be held in Paris on the 28th of April, during the course of the 31st ACM Conference on Human Factors in Computing, CHI’2013.

CHI Academy: Clarisse de Souza!

Prof. Clarisse de Souza becomes the first Latin American researcher to join the prestigious CHI Academy.
At Springer Clarisse has published in the Human-Computer Interaction series and diverse journals and books.

Meet Clarisse de Souza & Luciana Salgado in Person 

Springer’s ‘Meet the Author’ session, CHI booth 23-24, Wednesday 1st May, 15:20-16:00

Clarisse will be joined by Luciana Salgado, one of her co-authors on A Journey Through Cultures, at Springer’s ‘Meet the Author’ session being held at CHI’2013. Delegates are invited to visit the Springer booth (#23-24) on Wednesday 1st May, 15:20-16:00 to speak with the authors about their book, or about the topic of semiotic engineering in general.

SIGCHI Lifetime Service Award: Joseph A. Konstan! 

Joseph has received the award for his contributions to the growth of SIGCHI in a variety of capacities and his extended services to the community at large over a number of years.
At Springer Joseph is multiple LNCS author, journal contributing author and board member of the journal User Modeling and User-Adapted Interaction (UMUAI).
