Lecture Notes in Bioinformatics (LNBI)

Just as in the mid-1980s LNAI was established as a topical subseries of LNCS focusing on artificial intelligence, we decided recently to set up Lecture Notes in Bioinformatics as a subseries of LNCS devoted to bioinformatics and computational biology. Here the initiative came from the series editors of the new subseries, and their interest coincided with our desire to devote a higher visibility to bioinformatics within our publication program. We look forward to exciting interaction with the bioinformatics community and we are keen on providing a valuable service to this community, similar to that we provide to the CS and AI communities. The first titles in LNBI were released in 2003.
LNBI is devoted to the publication of state-of-the-art research results in bioinformatics and computational biology, at a high level and in both printed and electronic versions - making use of the well-established LNCS publication machinery. As with the LNCS mother series, proceedings and postproceedings are at the core of LNBI, however all other sublines are available for LNBI as well.
The topics in LNBI are genomics, molecular sequence analysis, recognition of genes and regulatory elements, molecular evolution, protein structure, gene expression, gene networks, combinatorial libraries and drug design, and computational proteomics.
