About the authors

Hu Angang, one of China' most influential public intellectuals, is a professor at the School of Public Policy and Management and founding director of the Institute for Contemporary China Studies at Tsinghua University in Beijing.

 Yan Yilong, is a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Education and researcher at the Institute for Contemporary China Studies at Tsinghua University in Beijing.

  Wei Xing, is an assistant professor at the School of Public Policy and Management and researcher at the Institute for Contemporary China Studies at Tsinghua University in Beijing.
