About the authors
Wei Huang received his B.E. and Ph.D. degrees from Hefei University of Technology, China, in 2009 and 2016, respectively. He has been working at China National Machinery Industry Group Corporation (Sinomach), Beijing, China, since June 2016. He has carried out research and engineering application of engineering vibration control and has joined the Department of Civil Engineering of Tsinghua University, Beijing, as Postdoc in April 2018. Dr. Huang is a senior engineer and a registered structural engineer in China. Dr. Huang has published more than 30 papers in peer-reviewed journals and received more than 20 Chinese invention patents and copyrights of two software. He has participated in the preparation of 6 China National Standards. He is a member of a number of academic organizations including the Professional Committee of Building Vibration of the China Engineering Construction Standardization Association.
Jian Xu is an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. He received his postgraduate degree from Hunan University, China, in 1988. He was promoted to professorate senior engineer at Design and Research Institute of Ministry of Machinery Industry in 1994, and he served as the dean of Design and Research Institute of Ministry of Machinery Industry from 1998. he was the former general manager and chief engineer of China National Machinery Industry Corporation (Sinomach), and currently he serves as the chief scientist of Sinomach, and he is a doctoral supervisor.
Prof. Xu has been engaged in engineering vibration control and seismic vibration control of industrial buildings for a long time. He has prepared 25 national and professional standards as a chief editor or a participant and has published 28 professional books and more than 60 academic papers. He has won 2 Second Class Prizes for STP of China and 4 First Class Prizes for STP of provincial and ministerial level.Prof. Xu serves as the vice chairman of the China Association for Engineering Construction Standardization, vice chairman of China Exploration and Design Association, and vice chairman of China National Association of Engineering Consultants.
