About this book

This book focuses on reservoir surveillance and management, reservoir evaluation and dynamic description, reservoir production stimulation and EOR, ultra-tight reservoir, unconventional oil and gas resources technology, oil and gas well production testing, and geomechanics. This book is a compilation of selected papers from the 12th International Field Exploration and Development Conference (IFEDC 2022).

The conference not only provides a platform to exchanges experience, but also promotes the development of scientific research in oil & gas exploration and production. The main audience for the work includes reservoir engineer, geological engineer, enterprise managers, senior engineers as well as professional students.

    Jia’en Lin

About the editor

Jia'en Lin is Professor at Xi'an Shiyou University. He holds a Ph.D. in Mechanics from Tsinghua University, an M.S. from China Petroleum University, Beijing, and a B.S. from Southwestern Petroleum University, both in Petroleum Engineering. He worked as Visiting Scholar at the University of Houston for one year during 2011–2012 and at the Heriot-Watt University for half a year in 1998. He also worked as Petroleum Engineer at Xinjiang Petroleum Administration Bureau from 1983 to 1996.

Prof. Lin has over 30 years of experience with national oil-producing companies and universities. His research areas include reservoir description, reservoir engineering, well test analysis, reservoir information management, prediction of production performance, multi-phase fluid flows in porous media, and numerical simulation. He has published over 50 papers in journals and conference proceedings and has led more than 30 research projects on reservoir monitoring and well test data interpretation, reservoir engineering, reservoir description, and management for PetroChina, Sinopec, and Cnooc in the last ten years. In addition, he is Founder of the Center for Reservoir Monitoring and Management at Xi'an Shiyou University.
