About this book
This book contains a comprehensive guide to the latest developments in building and bridge construction. The book covers a wide range of topics, including the use of advanced materials such as fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) composites and the incorporation of smart technologies into design and construction of buildings and bridges.
The book discusses advantages of using FRP composites in building and bridge construction. It then goes on to explore the use of smart technologies, such as sensors and structural health monitoring systems, to improve performance and safety of structures. It also covers the use of advanced concrete and masonry materials and methods, including high-performance concrete, self-consolidating concrete, and advanced masonry systems.
The book is written for engineers, architects, and construction professionals and provides a detailed overview of the latest research and developments in the field. It includes case studies and practical examples to illustrate key concepts and techniques, making it an invaluable resource for those involved in building and bridge construction.
With its comprehensive coverage of the latest advances in building and bridge construction, "Advances in Concrete, Masonry and FRP Composite Smart Buildings and Bridges" is an essential guide for anyone looking to stay current with the latest trends and technologies in the industry.

About the editors
Dr. Ayman S. Mosallam is a professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering, and a professor, Materials and Manufacturing Engineering Technology and served as the director of the UCI Structural Engineering Testing Hall at the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department at University of California, Irvine (UCI). He is a fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). In 2019 through 2022, he was listed among the top 2% researchers in Civil Engineering worldwide. He is a registered structural professional engineer in the District of Colombia and has more than forty years of experience in pultruded composites, with emphasis on its durability performance and effect of fire materials. He started his research on pultruded composites since 1985 and since then he has been an international leading authority in this area. Again, this training course was taught in different region in the USA and abroad.
Prof. Brahim El Bhiri
Brahim El Bhiri is a professor of Telecommunication and embedded systems at the Moroccan School of Engineering Sciences (EMSI: Ecole Marocaine des Sciences de l’Ingenieur). He is the director of R&D&I at the same school and the head of SMARTiLab Laboratory of Research, Development, and Innovation.
He has over 11 years of experience in the field of electronics, wireless sensor networks, data processing, and embedded system. He has published more than thirty papers in international scientific journals and international conferences. He is the author of 2 books and 10 book chapters, published by leading international publisher like Springer. He has received several awards, one of them a best paper award from Italy at the seventh SENSORCOMM’2013 International Conference. He is a reviewer at more than five scientific journals and a researcher and a deputy project manager of several projects.
