    Tarek Al Arbi Omar Ganat

About the author

Tarek Al-Arbi Omar Ganat, Assoc. Professor, a recipient of the Chartered Engineer CEng (EI) member, was born in 1968. He earned a B.S. degree in petroleum engineering from Tripoli University, Libya, in 1991, and M.Sc. degree in “Petroleum Engineering” from ISE University- Spain/Madrid in 2003, M.Sc. degree in “Engineering Management,” from Tripoli University, Libya. 2005, and Ph.D. degree in Petroleum Engineering from the International Islamic University of Malaysia, Selangor, Malaysia, in 2016. The author had more than 27 years of work experience in the oil and gas industry. He worked with Jowef Oil services, Repsol oil Company, Petro-Canada Oil Company, and PETRONAS Carigali Sdn in Malaysia. More than twenty-seven years of work experience was developed in both the oil and gas industry and academia and largely focused on well testing and reservoir engineering studies and application software development. He has considerable experience in the application of petroleum industry-related packages in multinational and multicultural JV’s. He has been one of the academic members of PETRONAS Teknologi Universiti in Malaysia for five years and as a research engineer for the Research Institute of Hydrocarbon in Malaysia. The author has professional skills and extensive experience of more than three years in training centers. He had published over 50 papers in peer-reviewed journals and conferences. Additionally, he published three books, “Fundamentals of Reservoir Rock Properties,” published by Springer in 2019, “Technical Guidance for Petroleum Exploration and Production plans,” Published by Springer in 2020, and “Rock Properties Reservoir Engineering Practical View,” Published by Springer in 2022.
