About the editors

GERALDO ALVES DAMASCENO JUNIOR is a biologist, has a PhD from the State University of Campinas (Brazil) and did his post doc at the University of Hamburg (Germany). He is a Professor of Botany, Phytosociology and Biogeography at the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul since 1990. His research is focused on the relationship between vegetation and soil, inundation and fire. 

ARNILDO POTT is an agronomist, has a PhD from the University of Queensland (Australia) and did his postdoc at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh (UK). He is a Senior Visiting Professor of Botany at the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul since 2008. His research is focused on vegetation dynamics of Pantanal wetland, savanna, natural grasslands, and soil seed back and his publication record can be seen here. Dr. Pott is the author of a pioneering, successful book on the plants of Pantanal Wetland, published in Portuguese in 1994 (Plantas do Pantanal) and contributed a chapter to the book Dynamics of the Pantanal Wetland in South America (Springer, 2015).
