CONTRIBUTE TO THE AAPS JOURNAL EARLY-CAREER INVESTIGATORS THEME

The AAPS Journal is continuing a theme issue to showcase high-quality work of independent Emerging Investigators. We seek your help to encourage outstanding early-career colleagues to contribute to this exciting theme issue. Details of the theme issue are as follows:
Name of theme issue: Pioneering Pharmaceutical Science by Emerging Investigators--2019
Eligibility: The corresponding author must have completed her/his last academic training (e.g., Ph.D. or postdoctoral fellowship) on or after January 1, 2011. There is no requirement for AAPS membership, nor preference for geography or nature of employment. The research work should have been led independently by the Emerging Investigator.
Manuscript submission: A nomination is not required. The submitted manuscript is first screened by Editors for the overall quality of science before peer review is initiated. Manuscripts that do not qualify for this theme issue will be returned. Manuscripts for this theme issue should be submitted by August 31, 2019.
Manuscript scope: All aspects of pharmaceutical science will be included, except for pharmaceutical technology, formulation, and manufacturing, which are covered by our sister journal, AAPS PharmSciTech.
Manuscript type: Manuscripts describing original research are preferred. See the INSTRUCTIONS FOR AUTHORS at www.editorialmanager.com/aapsj for further details. At submission, select this theme issue under Section/Category. Please also submit, as supplemental material, a brief biography describing the time line of research training, including the name(s) of training supervisors.
Additional Recognition:
· Authors whose manuscript is accepted for publication in this theme issue will receive a recognition certificate from The AAPS Journal. Take a look at our featured 2018 awardees and their articles (2 from academia and 2 from industry).
· The Editor-in-Chief will send a letter to the corresponding author’s current supervisor(s), e.g., Department Chair and Dean, or equivalent for non-academic scientists, informing them of the Emerging Investigator’s inclusion in this special theme issue.
· A limited number of published manuscripts (3-5) will be selected by the Editors for 2-month free access.
· Publicity will be generated in conjunction with the 2019 AAPS PharmSci 360 in San Antonio, TX.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact the editorial office.
