Meet the Editors-in-Chief 

József Tímár MD, PhD, DSc

JT is a professor of pathology who was graduated from the Semmelweis Medical University in 1976. He was a faculty of the 1st Department of Pathology and Experimental Cancer Research of the same university, mooved to the National Institute of Oncology, Hungary in 1999 than was the chair of 2nd Department of Pathology of Semmelweis from 2008 till 2017. He was established the Department of Tumor Progression at NIO, the Department of Tumor Biology at the National Koranyi Lung Institute, Hungary than the Molecular Oncology and Brain Metastasis Research Groups of Hungarian Academy of Sciences and Semmelweis University. He devoted to his entire carrier to metastasis research and molecular pathology. His main fields are melanoma, lung- and head and neck cancers. Hi is the co-founder of the Journal Pathology Oncology Research back to 1995 where he serves as co-Editor-in-Chief since than. He has more than 300 publication which have collected more than 5000 citations.

    Aims and Scope


    Pathology & Oncology Research (POR) is an interdisciplinary Journal at the interface of pathology and oncology including the preclinical and translational research, diagnostics and therapy. Furthermore, POR is an international forum for the rapid communication of reviews, original research, critical and topical reports with excellence and novelty. Published quarterly, POR is dedicated to keeping scientists informed of developments on the selected biomedical fields bridging the gap between basic research and clinical medicine. It is a special aim for POR to promote pathological and oncological publishing activity of colleagues in the Central and East European region. The journal will be of interest to pathologists, and a broad range of experimental and clinical oncologists, and related experts. POR is supported by an acknowledged international advisory board and the Arányi Fundation for modern pathology.
