Consequences of Hurricane Sandy: Update from our US offices

15:00hrs CET / 10:00hrs EST

Our US office in New York (Spring Street) is still without power and will remain closed on Wednesday, 31 October. The offices in Philadelphia and Yardley are currently open, but the Ambler office is closed today.
New York- and Philadelphia-based e-mail servers are still down, and as a result, not all colleagues can be reached via their Springer e-mail addresses. Also, only those colleagues that have internet access and VPN set-up are able to access Springer’s intranet.
IT, HR and Corporate Communications will work together to provide updates on a daily basis not only on the intranet but also via springer.com. Here, on springer.com, the updates for affected US employees will be included under “News”, where we usually post press releases.
It is our goal to ensure our employees’ safety while maintaining business continuity during this period and we encourage everyone to continue to exercise caution, to stay safe and, if possible, to check the intranet or springer.com to find the latest information.
Information as to when closed offices will reopen, will be posted by 0700 EST hrs each day.
