Springer France acquires the scientific journal "Phytothérapie"

Springer-Verlag France has acquired the French-language journal Phytothérapie. It appears every two months and covers all aspects of herbal medicine. The first issue published by Springer will appear in May 2002.
The publication is the official organ of the French Natural Medicine Society (AMPP) and is aimed at physicians, pharmacists, and scientists. "Herbal medicine is a rapidly developing field," stated Stéphanie van Duin, managing director of Springer-Verlag France. "With this high-level medical publication, Springer will expand its program and strengthen its position in the French scientific community," she continued.
Topics include new treatments such as phyto-estrogenes, or the role of food supplements in daily life. Each issue contains research papers, review articles on a specific pathology and a section devoted to nutrition. New products as well as the accompanying research are regularly presented. Editors are the leading specialists in France. Founded in 1999, the journal was previously published by Editions de Condé.
Springer-Verlag France, founded in 1986 and located in Paris, is a company in the specialist publishing group BertelsmannSpringer.
