About this book

Controlling ist immer noch ein umstrittener Begriff. Scheinbare Widersprüche lösen sich auf, wenn man Controlling als spezifisches Element der Führungsorganisation erklärt. Notwendig hierfür ist eine Abgrenzung der Funktionen, die einem institutionalisierten Controllung übertragen werden sollten. Bei Betrachtung der Managementberatungsfunktion des Controllers wird untersucht, ob die daraus resultierende Trennung von Entscheidungsvorbereitung und -kompetenz vorteilhaft ist. Die Rolle des Controllers als Kontrollinstanz wird mit Hilfe hierarchischer Principal-Agent-Modelle analysiert. Im Ergebnis kann der Controller die Service- und Kontrollfunktion ausschließlich in integrierter Form effizient wahrnehmen. Hieraus ergeben sich praktische Konsequenzen für die Organisation des Controllings.
