About the editors

Resat Ozaras, MD, Professor is in Infectious Diseases Department of Cerrahpasa Medical School, Istanbul University, Turkey. He studies acute hepatitis and chronic hepatitis of B, C, and D. He is a member of Viral Hepatitis Study Group of European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ESCMID).

Joop Arends, MD, PhD, is an Associate Professor at the University Medical Center Utrecht (UMC Utrecht), where he works in the Department of Infectious Diseases and leads the HIV and viral hepatitis research group. His translational research focuses on the clinical aspects of hepatitis B and C (co)-infections as well as the role of HIV-induced immune activation in relation to comorbidities. He is the former chair of the European Study Group for Viral Hepatitis (ESGVH) and has served on the program committee for the European Conference for Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases. Within the Netherlands he actively participates in nationwide guideline meetings and hepatitis projects (MC Free advisory board).  He has authored more than 100 peer-reviewed publications and is on the editorial board of Infectious Diseases and Therapy.
