From Book News, Inc.
The VIIIth Annual Symposium provides new information on molecular and immunological mechanisms, intervention and clinical approaches to treatment of diseases associated with aging, and with the aging process itself. The 56 papers are arranged into six major sections covering: molecular biology, virology, and genetics of Alzheimer's disease; metabolic, membrane, and cellular markers and models; role of nutritional, dietary, and immune factors in the pathogenesis of aging; immunological components and immunoregulation in aging; the brain, neuroendocrine circuits, pathology, and plasticity; and immunological, endocrine, and pharmacological approaches to treatment of diseases of aging.
