“This volume is a rapid yet comprehensive review of the surgical management of heart failure, both current and past therapeutic interventions. There is not another book with as much quality information on the topic in such a concise format. … provide an excellent source of information for all people who work with and care for heart failure patients. About the editor

Jai Raman, MD, FRACS, PhD, is director of the Section of Adult Cardiac Surgery and surgical director, Advanced Heart Failure, Heart Transplant and Mechanical Circulatory Support Program at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. He is a professor in the Department of Surgery. An internationally recognized leader in cardiac surgery, Raman has pioneered numerous new surgical procedures, focusing primarily on heart transplantation and the treatment of heart failure.
