About this book

A credible central bank can effectively lead the process of financial sector reform in a developing country. This book discusses central banking issues and offers a clear path to building credible central banks in emerging economies.

Reviews

'Dr. Noël K. Tshiani's book should be required reading for students of central banking everywhere, for staff members of central banks and ministers of finance and their staff, as well as for legislators, especially in developing countries afflicted by high inflation and collapsing currencies'

- Sir Courtney N. Blackman, Ph.D. Founding Governor of the Central Bank of Barbados, Former Ambassador to the USA and the Organization of American States, Author of books Central Banking in Theory and Practice, in 1995; and The Practice of Economic Management, in 2006.

'Dr. Tshiani presents a well reasoned case for balancing the independence of central banks against public accountability...a model for countries with emerging economies and a reminder to those with mature financial systems.'

- Mark B. Weinberg, JD Attorney at Law& Partner Weinberg& Jacobs, LLP
