Dr. Guo received her B.Eng. and M.Eng. from Tianjin University, and her M.Eng. and Ph.D. from the National University of Singapore (NUS) respectively. She was a senior engineer at Kent Ridge Digital Labs (KRDL) from October 2000 to May 2001, and served as a senior research staff member at the NUS from June 2001 to March 2003. She was Chairperson of the IEEE Singapore Women In Engineering (WIE) Affinity Group in 2011 and 2012, of the IEEE Broadcast Technology Society Singapore Chapter in 2013 and 2014, and of the IEEE Intelligent Transportation Systems Society Singapore Chapter in 2015 and 2016. She has published more than 50 papers in the international journals, conference proceedings and books, and has edited one book: Automotive Informatics and Communicative Systems: Principles in Vehicular Networks and Data Exchange. Her research areas include Network and Communication Security, Cyber-Physical System Security, Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) Security, Multicast, Vehicular Networks, and Communication Systems.

Dr. Hongliang Ren is currently an Assistant Professor and leading a research group on medical mechatronics at the Biomedical Engineering Department, National University of Singapore (NUS). He is an affiliated Principal Investigator for the Singapore Institute of Neurotechnology (SINAPSE), NUS (Suzhou) Research Institute, and Advanced Robotics Center at the NUS. Dr. Ren received his Ph.D. in Electronic Engineering (specialized in Biomedical Engineering) from the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) in 2008. Prior to joining the NUS, he worked as a Research Fellow at Johns Hopkins University, Children’s Hospital Boston & Harvard Medical School, and Children’s National Medical Center, USA. His main areas of interest include Biorobotics & Intelligent Control, Medical Mechatronics, Computer-Integrated Surgery, and Multisensor Data Fusion in Surgical Robotics. Dr. Ren is an IEEE Senior Member and recipient of the IAMBE Early Career Award (2018).

Dr. Aishwarya Bandla is a Research Fellow at the Singapore Institute for Neurotechnology (SINAPSE), where she leads the Neurophotonics research group under the guidance of Prof. Nitish Thakor. Dr. Bandla holds a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from the National University of Singapore (NUS). Her research focuses on multimodal imaging and novel therapeutic interventions for neurological disorders based on a clinical translational “bench-to-bedside” approach. She has authored several peer-reviewed articles and won over 15 international conference awards. She represented the NUS at the Global Young Scientist’s Summit 2018 and was selected as a “Future-Ready Leader” by the NUS Centre for Future-Ready Graduates.
