About this book

The success of the first edition of Percutaneous Treatment of Left Side Cardiac Valves has convinced us of the need to update this book in order to keep pace with the continuing rapid and dynamic evolution in the discipline. Once again, this practical guide is designed to provide the reader with complete state of the art information on the techniques and approaches to percutaneous treatment of left side cardiac valve disease. Numerous images will help the reader to understand in detail the steps of each procedure. The potential complications and expected or potential morbidity from each procedure are discussed in depth, and the best ways to manage them are carefully explained. The book is also intended as a reference covering the up-to-date knowledge contained in the literature on the application of transcatheter techniques to cardiac valves.

Reviews

From the reviews of the second edition:

“Field experts present in five chapters a stepwise approach to percutaneous valve intervention. … this version includes essential data regarding the clinical outcome of commercially available devices, as well as a review of the available literature. … easily readable for those trained or being trained in interventional cardiology, this book provides the reader with an up-to-date review of a fast-moving field. In this respect, it can be highly recommended to all interventionalists who are interested in the latest developments in percutaneous valve treatment.” (C. Dubois, Tijdschrift voor Geneeskunde, Vol. 69 (9), 2013)

“A fully revised and an updated edition of a comprehensive guide to transcatheter treatment of left-side cardiac valves … . Practicing interventional cardiologists and interventional fellows in training will find this book of interest. … The book is well illustrated with tips and tricks, complication management strategies, and guidance for subsequent patient follow-up. Cardiologists with an interest in valvular heart diseases who seek to gain further insight into percutaneous therapy of left-sided cardiac valves may want to use this book as their reference guide.” (Anil Verma, Doody’s Review Service, September, 2012)
