About this book

Every resident in otolaryngology has to practice on temporal bones before operating on patients. Whilst the systematic training includes use of the microscope and surgical instruments, heavy emphasis is also placed on knowledge of the surgical anatomy of the middle ear and the temporal bone. This lavishly illustrated manual offers an overview of all such important structures and provides the reader with a helpful approach to gain the knowledge necessary to start operating on patients. It also supports experts to improve and teach their skills.

Reviews

From the reviews:

“This manual for performing various temporal bone dissections is divided into exercises in order of complexity, with figures highlighting key steps of each surgical activity. … It succeeds in targeting its intended audience of otolaryngology residents and others looking for an introduction to temporal bone dissection. … Due to the complex nature of temporal bone surgery, a manual will be welcomed by otolaryngology residents. … It contains helpful tips for temporal bone surgery and would be useful for review prior to dissections.” (Inna Athar Husain, Doody’s Review Service, September, 2011)
