About this book
Since the first edition of this book, sonography of the peripheral nervous system has evolved further. Not only has knowledge of the sonographic features of common neurological disorders deepened, but constant research has led to the application of sonography in the diagnosis and guided treatment of disorders that were not previously accessible. This second, revised edition reflects these ongoing developments in various ways: many state of the art high-resolution images are included, the text has been adapted to reflect the current state of the literature, and information is presented using a more modern layout. Anatomic/sonographic correlation is considered in depth, and examination technique with modern sonography equipment is explained. This book provides a practical, clinically oriented overview of all aspects of sonographic diagnosis and interventional therapy of the peripheral nervous system and will be of value to all with an interest in this field.
Reviews
From the reviews of the second edition:
"This is a thorough resource on ultrasound imaging of peripheral nerve disease. … It is written for practicing radiologists, neurologists, plastic surgeons, and orthopedic surgeons who are involved in the diagnosis of peripheral nerve disease using ultrasound. … a useful addition to the library of any physician involved in ultrasound imaging of peripheral nerves. This second edition is updated with improved ultrasound images and discussion of recent advances in the literature." (Julie Sossaman, Doody’s Review Service, August, 2008)
"The authors, contributors, and editors have compiled their extensive personal experience, original research … in the fields of anatomy, neurology, and surgery into a textbook that is well written, nicely illustrated, and effortlessly understandable. … this latest addition to the Medical Radiology/Diagnostic Imaging series is indispensable to those interested in using sonography to diagnose and treat peripheral nerve diseases. It provides a clinically oriented, concise, and accessible review of diagnostic sonography … . it should prove useful in both academic and private practice settings." (American Journal of Neuroradiology, Vol. 30, April, 2009)
