Im vorliegenden Buch wird für Analytiker, Designer von Informationssystemen, Systemkonstrukteure, Datenadmininstratoren, Datenbankadministratoren, Projektleiter sowie Studenten entsprechender Fachrichtungen ein praxiserprobtes, pseudo-objekt- und datenorientiertes Entwurfsprozedere vorgestellt, das der Schaffung von anwendungsorientieren und/oder globalen (unternehmungsweiten) Informationssystemen dient. Das hardware- und software-unabhängige, von zahlreichen europäischen Firmen angewendete Verfahren sieht zunächst die systematische Ermittlung eines konzeptionellen (d.h. eines neutralen) Modells vor und leitet davon software-unterstützte logische und physische Datenstrukturen ab.
