About the authors

Dr. Souraj Salah is currently a part-time Adjunct-Professor at Abu Dhabi School of Management and also at Hamdan Bin Muhammad Smart University. He is also a full-time Business Process Improvement-Manager working in the logistics, contracting, services and manufacturing sectors in the UAE. He worked for various local, multi-national and Fortune 500 companies across North America and the Middle East. He earned his PhD from the University of New Brunswick in Canada. He has published more than fifteen papers in various international journals and has over seventeen years of industrial-engineering experience. He is also certified as a Six-Sigma Master Black Belt and Lean Leader trained by the Juran Institute, Lead Advisors, Alignment Strategies in Canada, and Johnson Controls Intl. in the USA and as a Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment Management Systems Lead-Auditor by Bureau Veritas. Dr. Souraj won the American Society for Quality’s United Arab Emirates Quality-professional Award in 2015.
 


Prof. Abdur Rahim joined the Faculty of Business Administration at the University of New Brunswick in 1983. He received the UNB Merit Award in 1992 and 2000 for his performance in research, service and teaching. He also received the Faculty of Business Administration’s Excellence in Research Award in 1999 for his outstanding performance throughout his career. Dr. Rahim is a recognized global expert on Total Quality Management. He has taught a wide range of courses in various universities and has worked as a consultant for UNDP (United Nations Development Program) and FAO (Food and Agriculture Organizations of the United Nations). He is Associate Editor of the International Journal of Systems Science and Regional Editor of Economic Quality Control. He is a member of the Advisory or Editorial boards for: the American International University Bangladesh Journal of Business and Economics, Engineering Optimization, the Journal of Qualityin Maintenance Engineering, the Journal of Technology Management, and Quality Engineering. Dr. Rahim’s research interests include quality control, production and operations management. He has written or edited three monographs and has produced over 70 refereed journal articles and book chapters.
