About this book

This book is an introduction to quality initiative for vascular surgery and medicine. Originally published in German, the book is written by leading experts who utilise their professional expertise and insight to help raise the level of patient safety, quality of care, and training of junior vascular physicians.

This books aims to bring together the best available current treatment and information, including recent guidelines, meta-analyses, and randomised trials to help put evidence-based therapeutic recommendations into practice.

Innovative therapeutic treatment options are not currently incorporated within standard procedure, and this book will help physicians include these methods and create more individualised treatment.

Reviews

“This is a compilation of the essential guidelines, evidence reviews, and landmark trials that impact the modern practice of vascular surgery. … Medical students and junior residents will find the material to be a solid foundation to begin their reading, while more senior trainees will benefit from the comprehensive overview of the most notable recent literature. … This is an excellent reference for readers looking for an update on the latest data to support the treatment of vascular disease.” (Matthew C. Chia, Doody’s Book Reviews, June, 2017)

“Evidence-based Therapy in Vascular Surgery provides a concise summary of multiple society guidelines (both European and American), meta-analyses, reviews, registry-data and large clinical trials for the most frequently treated vascular diseases. It is up-to-date, and assembles information in well-organized and easily-read segments, with a practical summary for each chapter, plus references.  Evidence-based therapy is critical for improved quality, and in less than 300 pages, Professors Debus and Grundmann have assembled this key information for needed for decision making in vascular surgery.  This textbook is outstanding, and will greatly benefit students, residents and seasoned vascular surgeons.” (Jack L. Cronenwett)
