About the editors

Prof. Yuzo Iano The Prof. Yuzo Iano holds a degree (1972), a master's degree (1974) and a doctorate (1986) in Electrical Engineering from the State University of Campinas (Unicamp). Since then, it has been active in a vast field of technological production, with 1 patent granted, 8 patent applications filed, 3 software registrations (in process) and 36 completed projects with research and development agencies. He has successfully supervised 5 postdoctoral projects, supervised 33 doctoral theses, 56 master's dissertations, 74 undergraduate monographs, 48 scientific initiation works and 198 other orientations (Teaching Internship Program, projects, etc). He participated in 102 masters examinations, 50 doctoral and 50 in qualifications (master's and doctorate), author/co-author of 2 books, 8 chapters of books and 300 papers published. Received two Innovation Awards from Inova Unicamp, "Licensed Technology" category (2013 and 2018), an Award for Teaching Excellence inUndergraduate Education, Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing (2012) and a "Life Member" honor received from the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers - IEEE (2018). Currently he is MS6 in RDIDP of Department of Communications of the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering of Unicamp, Editor in chief of the SET International Journal of Broadcast Engineering and President of the Brazilian Technology Symposium (BTSym). He has experience in the area of Electrical Engineering, with emphasis in Telecommunications, Electronics and Information Technology, working mainly in the field of audio-visual communications and data. The main topics of interest are: digital signal processing and transmission of images / video / audio / data, hdtv, digital tv, 3G / 4G / 5G networks, middleware, television signal transmission / digital signal encoding, data transmission / storage, sensors and small signals, preventive and predictive maintenance, magnetic materials analysis,wireless sensor networks, solar photovoltaic prediction systems and intelligent / digital cities.

 

Prof. Rangel Arthur He holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from the Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho State University (1999), a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering (2002) and a PhD in Electrical Engineering (2007) from University of Campinas. During the years 2011 to 2014 he was Coordinator and Associate Coordinator of the Technology Courses in Telecommunications Systems and Telecommunications Engineering at School of Technology, which was created in his management. From 2015 to 2016 he was Associate Director of Unicamp's School of Technology . He is currently an advisor to the Innovation Agency (Inova) at University of Campinas. He has experience in Electrical Engineering, with emphasis on Telecommunications Systems, working mainly in the following topics: telecommunications, digital signal processing and control. He was and continues as executor and co-executor in several research projects with funding CAPES, National Network of Teaching and Research (RNP) and Fapesp. He is a representative at the Brazilian System of Technology Unit (Sibratec). He is member of the Council of the Association of Environments of Innovation of Limeira-SP. In extension, since 2014 He coordinates the course of Specialization in Mechatronics, also taught in FT.

 

Prof. Osamu Saotome Full Professor of the Electronic Engineering Division of the Technological Institute of Aeronautics. Graduated in Electronic Engineering from the Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronáutica - ITA (1974), Master in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, in the Digital Signal Processing modality, at the Tokyo Institute of Technology (1984) and PhD in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, in the modality of Processing Digital Signals, Tokyo Institute of Technology (1987). He has experience in Electronic Engineering with focus on Electronic Circuits, Microprocessors, DSPs, Embedded Electronic Systems, FPGAs, Intelligent Sensors, Embedded Software, Avionics Systems, Electronic Aerospace Systems, Mechatronic Systems, acting in the following subjects: real-time, electronic devices and systems, algorithms, digital signal processing, digital image and video processing, FPGA systems design, radar receivers, global geo-positioning systems, GNSS, GPS, Smart Grid networks, Software Defined Radio (SDR), Structural Health Monitoring (SHM). He has experience in Mechatronics Systems Engineering, in the Aerial Robotics, Inertial Systems, Ultra-High Reliability Systems, Certifiable Avionics Systems, acting on the following subjects: Quadricopters, Quadricopters in Fleets, Onboard Satellite Computer, air, space robots, radiation effects on electronic circuits.

 

Prof. Vania Vieira Estrela B.Sc. from Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) in Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE); M.Sc. from the Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronáutica (ITA), Sao Jose dos Campos; M.Sc. degree in ECE at Northwestern University, Illinois (IL), USA; and Ph.D. in ECE from the Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT), IL, USA. Taught at: DeVry University; DePaul University; Universidade Estadual do Norte Fluminense (UENF), Rio de Janeiro (RJ), Brazil; and for the Universidade Estadual da Zona Oeste (UEZO), Rio de Janeiro, RJ, Brazil. Visiting professor at the Polytechnic Institute of Rio de Janeiro (IPRJ)/State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ) in Nova Friburgo, RJ. Currently working at Universidade Federal Fluminense (UFF), Niterói, RJ for the Department of Telecommunications. Research interests include: signal/image/video processing, inverse problems, computational & mathematical modeling, stochastic models, multimedia, communications, motion estimation, machine learning and geoprocessing. Reviewer for the following journals/magazines: IMAVIS (Elsevier); Pattern Recognition (Elsevier); Computers & Electrical Engineering (Elsevier); IET Image Processing; IET Computer Vision and International Journal of Image Processing (IJIP). Prof. Hermes José Loschi Hermes José Loschi graduated in Control and Automation Engineering at Paulista University (UNIP). He holds an M.Sc in Electrical Engineering by the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP). Currently a Ph.D. Candidate by Department of Communications (DECOM), Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering (FEEC) at UNICAMP. Professional with experience in applications engineering, processes and definition of technical scope of Diesel engines and Diesel generators, in particular MTU and Mercedes Diesel engines. Technical skills conquered with high level of commitment on all projects assigned for, self motivated, with straight focus on activities under responsibility, effective team work skills and leadership potential on Photovoltaic Solar Generation R&D. Currently, Technical Program and Finance Chair of Brazilian Technology Symposium (BTSym) and researcher at the Laboratory of Visual Communications (LCV). The main topics of interest are Wireless Sensor Network, Internet of Things, Smart Grid, Broadcasting, Biomass, Photovoltaic Systems Applications, Solar Energy, Photovoltaic Solar Generation Prediction Systems, Solar Tracking, Open Access, and STEM.
