Overview
- The ECCOMAS Thematic Conference on Multibody Dynamics is an event which takes place every two years and which attracts the best researchers in multibody dynamics in the world. A publication collecting the most important and influential papers provides a unique opportunity to present to a broad audience the state of the art in this field.
- Springer has published a similar collection for the two previous editions of this series of conferences, namely the one of 2003 in Lisbon and the one of 2005 in Madrid. A similar book for the 2007 conference in Milan creates a book series which accompanies the conference series, something which is not presently available in the multibody dynamics community. In fact, although also the ASME organizes a multibody conference in the USA which is well attended, there is not a similar book series accompanying that conference.

Reviews
From the reviews:
"This collection is to provide the international multibody dynamics … with an up-to-date view on the state of the art in this rapidly growing field of research which now plays a central role in the modeling, analysis, simulation and optimization of mechanical systems in a variety of fields and for a wide range of industrial applications. … It is a must read for engineers and researchers … . The authors’ researches are impressively thorough and their presentations … are a masterpiece." (Current Engineering Practice, Vol. 12, 2009)
