This Handbook provides up-to-date reference content on the subject of Health Economics. It deals with contemporary health care issues from an economic perspective – from both Micro and Macroeconomic vantage points. It also keeps up with the ever changing fields of Health Care and Biomedical research and the concomitant shift in economic dimensions. The book covers fundamental concepts and methods in Health Economics and goes beyond that by addressing current issues in the health care sector that have great economic relevance. Spanning over 65 Chapters, the book not only explores classical concepts but also newer themes such as economics of Organ and Tissue allocation mechanisms, Genetic testing, Disability, Care management and Technological changes in the sector.
