About the editor
In 2013, on Rio de Janeiro's Copacabana Beach, along with hundreds of Brazilian citizens, he organized the Vaccine March, an action that charged the Federal Government of Brazil the free availability of HPV vaccine. Two months after the popular activity led by Dr. Mauro Romero, the Brazilian Ministry of Health announced the introduction in the National Immunization Program schedule of vaccination for girls aged 9 - 13 years with the quadrivalent vaccine against HPV 6, 11, 16, 18. In 2004, Dr. Romero authored the Document of Niterói to Combat Acquired and Congenital Syphilis. On March 9, 2017, the Federal Law was approved creating the National Day to Combat Syphilis, to be celebrated on the third Saturday of October of each year.
