In der Controllingforschung werden Aspekte der Motivation, des Lernens und der Kommunikation systematisch vernachlässigt. Dies führt zum Auseinanderfallen von theoretischem Anspruch und Praxis der Nutzung von Controllinginformationen, so die Ausgangsthese einer Kontroverse in der einschlägigen Literatur.

Bernd-Oliver Heine ergänzt die dominante, formal-analytische Perspektive auf die Nutzung von Controllinginformationen um Aspekte des Lernens und der Kommunikation, indem er das sachlich-analytische Konzept der konzeptionellen Informationsnutzung integriert. Dazu entwickelt er ein erweitertes Grundmodell der Nutzung von Controllinginformationen. Zu dessen modelltheoretischer Präzisierung identifiziert er Hollands Theorie regelbasierter, adaptiver Agenten als Modellierungsansatz. Mithilfe der Methode der Computersimulation zeigt der Autor, dass die zentralen Postulate der vorhandenen, sachlich- und formal-analytischen Ansätze im konkreten Modell einer Produktprogrammentscheidung erfolgreich reproduziert werden können.

Dr. Bernd-Oliver Heine promovierte bei Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Jürgen Weber am Lehrstuhl für Controlling und Telekommunikation der WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management in Vallendar. Er ist zurzeit als Unternehmensberater bei einer internationalen Management- und Strategieberatung tätig.
