Aims & Scope

Drug research requires interdisciplinary team-work at the interface between chemistry, biology and medicine. Therefore, the series Topics in Medicinal Chemistry covers all relevant aspects of drug research, e.g. pathobiochemistry of diseases, identification and validation of (emerging) drug targets, structural biology, drugability of targets, drug design approaches, chemogenomics, synthetic chemistry including combinatorial methods, bioorganic chemistry, natural compounds, high-throughput screening, pharmacological in vitro and in vivo investigations, drug-receptor interactions on the molecular level, structure-activity relationships, drug absorption, distribution, metabolism, elimination, toxicology and pharmacogenomics.

The series critically reviews the present and future trends in medicinal chemistry by publishing topical volumes edited by well-known guest editors in the field. Each topical volume covers the most significant developments of the last 5 to 10 years, and it also outlines the current status and future direction of the area.

Contributions to the series are invited by the guest editor of a topical volume. Unsolicited contributions may be considered for publication if they meet the aims & scope of Topics in Medicinal Chemistry and conform to the instructions for authors.

The series Topics in Medicinal Chemistry provides a unique value to the medicinal chemistry community, and it is intended for researchers and experts working in academia and in the pharmaceutical industry, and also for graduates that look for a carefully selected collection of high quality review articles on their respective field of expertise.
