About the Editor

Massimo Durante

Massimo Durante is Professor in Philosophy of Law at the Department of Law of the University of Turin. He holds a Ph.D. in Philosophy of Law, Department of Law, University of Turin, and a Ph.D. in History of Philosophy, Faculty of Philosophy, University of Paris IV Sorbonne. He is a member of the Board of the International Erasmus Mundus Ph.D. Program “Law, Science, and Technology” and Faculty Fellow of Nexa Center, Turin, his main fields of research concern philosophy of law, law and ethics, legal informatics, philosophy of technology, and information ethics. Author of several books, he has published articles, essays and book chapters in Italian, English and French. Editorial board member and peer-reviewer for several international reviews, he is also currently interested in Governance Theory and Digital Democracy.

Patrick Allo

Patrick Allo is postdoctoral researcher at the Centre for Logic and Philosophy of Science at Brussels Free University. He is part of a project on the Logic, and Philosophy of Mathematical Practices, and focuses specifically on the study and formal modelling of online collaboration in mathematics. He was previously a postdoctoral fellow of the Research Foundation Flanders (Belgium) and a guest professor of Ghent University. His main research interests include the relation between logic and information, the formal representation of information-flow, and the use of logical methods in the philosophy of information. Patrick is a founding member, and the current president of the Society for the Philosophy of Information.

Phyllis Illari

Phyllis Illari is a Lecturer in Philosophy of Science in the Science and Technology Studies department at University College London. She studied at Oxford and UCL and holds a PhD from King's College London. Phyllis Illari is primarily active in the philosophy of science, particularly the philosophy of causality and the philosophy of information. She is one of the founding steering committee members of the Causality in the Sciences conference series, and one of the founding committee members of the Society for the Philosophy of Information.

Shannon Vallor

Shannon Vallor is researcher and Associate Professor of Philosophy at Santa Clara University in Silicon Valley, and Vice-President/President-Elect of the international Society for Philosophy and Technology (SPT). Her research explores the philosophical territory defined by three intersecting domains: the philosophy and ethics of emerging technologies, the philosophy of science and phenomenology. She currently researches the impact of emerging technologies, particularly those involving automation, on the moral and intellectual habits, skills and virtues of human beings - our character.
