Manuel Esteban Lucas Borja, PhD, Professor (full), Department of Agroforestry Technology and Science and Genetics, Higher Technical School of Agricultural and Forestry Engineering, and Biotechnology, Castilla La Mancha University, Albacete, Spain
Dr. Manuel Lucas Borja holds a master’s degree in Forestry and Rural Development from the Polytechnic University of Valencia, Spain (2004); a Master's degree in Environmental Engineering from Castilla La Mancha University, Spain (2006); and a Ph.D. in Forestry from Castilla La Mancha University, Spain (2008). His academic journey includes research visits to several institutions, including the University of Edinburgh in Scotland, Instituto Superior de AgronomÃa de Lisboa in Portugal, Tras-Os-Montes e Alto Douro University in Portugal, Centro de BiologÃa Aplicada del Segura in Spain, Oregon State University (College of Forestry), and the USDA Forest Service (Rocky Mountains Research Station, Arcata).
At present, Dr. Lucas Borja's professional commitments are centered around active involvement in several research and teaching initiatives at the School of Advanced Agricultural and Forestry Engineering and Biotechnology at Castilla La Mancha University. His primary areas of research encompass Wildfire Effects on Forest Ecosystems, Postfire Forest Management, Ecological Forest Restoration, Soil Erosion, and Forest Ecosystem Management under the Sustainability and Multifunctionality Principles.
