About the Editor

1-Sushil Jajodia (Series Founding Editor):

Sushil Jajodia is University Professor, BDM International Professor, and the founding director of Center for Secure Information Systems in the College of Engineering and Computing at the George Mason University, Fairfax, Virginia. He is also the director of the NSF IUCRC Center for Cybersecurity Analytics and Automation (CCAA). 

Dr. Jajodia has made research contributions to diverse aspects of security and privacy, including access control, multilevel secure databases, vulnerability analysis, moving target defense, cloud security, and steganography, as well as replicated and temporal databases and algebraic topology.  He has authored or coauthored seven books, edited 53 books and conference proceedings, and published more than 500 technical papers in the refereed journals and conference proceedings.  He is also a holder of 28 patents, 17 of which have been licensed by successful startups.  He is a fellow of ACM, IEEE, and IFIP; and recipient of numerous awards including the IEEE Computer Society W. Wallace McDowell Award.  According to the Google Scholar, he has over 50,000 citations and his h-index is 112.  He has supervised 27 doctoral dissertations; thirteen of these graduates hold academic positions while rest are in successful industrial positions.  Web: http://csis.gmu.edu/jajodia

2- Pierangela Samarati

PIERANGELA SAMARATI is Professor at the Department of Computer Science of the Università degli Studi di Milano, Italy. Her main research interests are 

on data and applications security and privacy, especially in emerging scenarios. She has coordinated, and participated in, several projects funded by the European 

Commission and the Italian Ministry or Research. She has published more than 280 peer-reviewed articles in international journals, conference proceedings, and book chapters.  

She has been Computer Scientist in the Computer Science Laboratory at SRI, CA (USA) and a visiting researcher at the Computer Science Department of Stanford University, CA (USA), and at the Center for Secure Information Systems of George Mason University, VA (USA). 

She has been named IEEE Fellow (2012), ACM Fellow (2021), IFIP Fellow (2021), and ACM Distinguished Scientist (2009).  She has received the ESORICS Outstanding Research 

Award (2018), the IEEE Computer Society Technical Achievement Award (2016), the IFIP WG 11.3 Outstanding Research Award (2012), and the IFIP TC11 Kristian Beckman Award (2008). 

She has been serving on the editorial board of various journals and as Program Chair, General Chair and in the program committees of various conferences.

3-Javier Lopez

Javier Lopez is Full Professor at the University of Malaga and Head on NICS Lab research group. His research activities are mainly focused on network security, security protocols and critical information infrastructures protection. He has published about one hundred research papers in journals with impact factor, and as Head of NICS Lab he has lead more than 50 research projects, among then over a dozen funded by the European Commission. Additionally, he had (co)supervised 19 PhD thesis. He is a member of the Editorial Boards of, amongst others, IEEE Wireless Communications, IEEE Trans on Dependable and Secure Computing, and Computers & Security, and has been Co-Editor in Chief of International Journal of Information Security (2004-2021). 

In the past he was member of the international Cybersecurity Advisory Board of HUWAEI (2015-2019), as well as the Spanish representative in the IFIP Technical Committee on Security and Privacy (2003-2018). Also was Chair of the ERCIM Working Group on Security and Trust Management (2009-2012) and Chair of the IFIP Working Group 11.11 on Trust Management (2006-2009).

4- Jaideep Vaidya

Jaideep Vaidya is a Distinguished Professor in the MSIS Department at Rutgers University. He received the B.E. degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Mumbai, the M.S. and Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from Purdue University. His general area of research is in security, privacy, data mining, and data management. He  has published over 200 technical papers in peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings, and has received several best paper awards from the premier conferences in data mining, databases, digital government, security, and informatics. He is an ACM Distinguished Scientist, an IEEE Fellow and is the Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE Transactions on Dependable and Secure Computing.
