About this book series

The series Zoophysiology presents treatises on selected subjects of timely interest to animal physiologists. The approach is a generally comparative, and covers, either on a broad or a restricted basis, functional aspects at cell, organ and organ system levels as related to the whole animal and its environment.
By critical sifting and summarizing of the ever-increasing number of original research publications, these volumes enable the reader to gain a concise contemporary overview of the selected field. The presentations are addressed primarily to graduate students in the field, specialists in related fields, but will also be of interest to the general biologist.

Discontinued series: although this series no longer publishes new content, the published titles listed here remain available.
