About this book series
Die Reihe will den Dialog und die konstruktive Auseinandersetzung zwischen Wissenschaft und Philosophie fördern. Diesem Ziel nähert sie sich von beiden Seiten: Zum einen sollen die Implikationen wissenschaftlicher Ergebnisse und Theorien für das philosophische Denken erkundet werden. Zum anderen soll eine philosophische Durchdringung und Analyse wissenschaftlicher Problemlagen, Konzepte und Theorien erreicht werden. Dabei werden verschiedenartige philosophische Ansätze verfolgt. Die Naturwissenschaften und die Mathematik werden besonders in den Blick genommen, aber die Reihe ist auch für andere Themenfelder offen.
Die Bände dieser Reihe versuchen, originelle Ideen und systematische Ansätze zu entwickeln, neue Lösungsversuche zu explorieren und allgemein souveränes und kritisches Denken zu fördern. Deshalb soll der Text bewusst für einen größeren Leserkreis verständlich sein, nicht nur für Fachleute.

The series aims to encourage a dialogue and a constructive debate between science and philosophy. It approaches this goal from both sides: On the one hand, the implications of scientific results and theories for philosophical thinking will be explored. On the other hand, a philosophical penetration and analysis of scientific problems, concepts and theories is intended. In this endeavour, different philosophical approaches are pursued. While the main focus is on the natural sciences and mathematics, the series is also open to other topics.
The volumes in this series seek to develop original ideas and systematic approaches, to explore new paths, and to generally promote independent and critical thinking. Therefore, the text should be understandable for a larger readership, not only for experts.

Cette série vise à encourager un dialogue et un débat constructif entre la science et la philosophie. Les perspectives de ces deux disciplines sont considérées tour à tour pour approcher cet objectif: d'une part, il s'agit d'explorer les implications des résultats scientifiques et théoriques pour la pensée philosophique. D'autre part, une considération philosophique et une analyse des problèmes, concepts et théories scientifiques sont réalisées. Différentes approches philosophiques sont abordées. Les sciences naturelles et les mathématiques sont particulièrement prises en compte, toutefois la série reste ouverte à d'autres sujets.
Les volumes de cette série tentent de développer des idées originales et des approches systématiques, d'explorer de nouvelles solutions et de promouvoir, d'une manière générale, un mode de pensée indépendant et un sens critique. Par conséquent, le texte devrait être compréhensible pour un plus grand nombre de lecteurs, et non pas seulement pour les experts.
