Der LeichtbauCampus Open Hybrid LabFactory ist ein Forschungscampus, der sich mit Materialentwicklung und Produktionstechnik für den wirtschaftlichen und multifunktionalen Leichtbau beschäftigt. Der Schwerpunkt der technologischen Aktivitäten des Forschungscampus liegt dabei auf der simultanen Material- und Produktionstechnikentwicklung in Multi-Material-Systemen für hybriden Leichtbau. Der Forschungscampus bildet dazu in der Forschungsfabrik die gesamte Wertschöpfungskette für hybride Bauteile ab; von der konzeptionellen Auslegung über die Entwicklung von Kohlenstofffasern und der Textilherstellung sowie den hybriden Fertigungsprozessen einschließlich des Recyclings. Die Initiatoren des LeichtbauCampus sind mit ihren Instituten der Technischen Universität Braunschweig dort vertreten. Prof. Dr.-Ing. Klaus Dröder leitet mit Prof. Dr.-Ing. Christoph Herrmann das Institut für Werkzeugmaschinen und Fertigungstechnik (IWF). Prof. Dr.-Ing. Thomas Vietor ist Vorsitzender des Niedersächsischen Forschungszentrums Fahrzeugtechnik und Leiter des Institutes für Konstruktionstechnik. Das Institut für Füge- und Schweißtechnik leitet Univ.-Prof. Dr.-Ing. Prof. h. c. Klaus Dilger.The
LightweightCampus Open Hybrid LabFactory is a research
campus funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research. It
focuses on material development and production technology for economical and
multifunctional lightweight construction, including the simultaneous
development of materials and production technology in multi-material systems
for hybrid lightweight construction. The LabFactory’s research campus covers
the entire value chain for hybrid components – from the conceptual design to
the development of carbon fibers and textile production as well as hybrid
manufacturing processes including recycling. The initiators of the
LeichtbauCampus are represented there with their institutes at the Technical
University Braunschweig: Prof. Dr.-Ing. Klaus Dröder and Prof. Dr.-Ing.
Christoph Herrmann are the Heads of the Institute for Machine Tools and Production
Technology (IWF); Prof. Dr.-Ing. Thomas Vietor is Chairman of the Automotive
Research Centre Niedersachsen (Niedersächsischen Forschungszentrums Fahrzeugtechnik)
and Head of the Institute for Design Technology. The Institute of Joining and
Welding Technology is headed by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Prof. h. c. Klaus Dilger.
