About the Editor
Ajit Kumar Verma is a Professor(Technical Safety) for over five years in Norway and is currently with ATØM, Western Norway University of Applied Sciences, Haugesund. He was a Professor with the Reliability Engineering/Department of Electrical Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology Bombay for around 15 years with a research focus on reliability, risk and safety engineering in various domains. He is also a Guest Professor at Lulea University of Technology, Sweden and was an adjunct at the University of Stavanger, Norway. He is the Series Editor of Springer book series Reliable & Sustainable Electric Power and Energy Systems Management and has jointly edited books published by Springer on the topic. He has also authored books titled "Fuzzy Reliability Engineering Concepts and Applications" (Narosa), "Optimal Maintenance of Large Engineering System-Practical Strategies for Effective Decision Making" (Narosa), "Reliability and Safety Engineering" (Springer),
"Dependability of Networked Computer Based Systems (Springer)", and "Risk Management of Non-Renewable Energy Systems" (Springer). He has 250 publications in various journals and conferences. He is a senior member of IEEE and a life fellow of IETE. He has served as the Editor-in-Chief of the Springer journal OPSEARCH (Jan 2008- Jan 2011) as well as is the founder Editor-in-Chief of another Springer journal International Journal of Systems Assurance Engineering and Management (IJSAEM), and Editor-in-Chief of Journal of Life Cycle Reliability and Safety Engineering (Springer). He is on the editorial board of various international journals. He has served as a Guest Editor of special issues of journals including IEEE Transactions on Reliability (March 2011) .P.K. Kapur is Director of the Amity Centre for Interdisciplinary Research, Amity University, Noida, India, Former Dean of the Faculty of Mathematical Sciences,
and Former Head of the Department of Operational Research, University of Delhi. He is the author of two world-renowned books: “Software Reliability Assessment with OR Applications” (Springer UK, 2011) and “Contributions to Hardware and Software Reliability” (World scientific, Singapore, 1999). He has executed various research projects funded by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) in the field of mathematical modeling in marketing and software reliability. He has been the President of SREQOM since 2000 and is a former President of the Operational Research Society of India. He is the Editor-in-Chief of IJSAEM, Springer, has edited 5 volumes of conference proceedings, and has been the guest editor for special issues of IJRQSE, CDQM, OPSEARCH etc.Uday Kumar holds a B. Tech from BHU-IT (1979) and a PhD in Mining Equipment Engineering (Reliability and Maintenance) from Luleå University of Technology, Sweden (1990). Currently, Dr. Kumar is the Chaired Professor of Operation and Maintenance Engineering and Director of the Strategic Area of Research and Innovation-Sustainable Transport at Luleå University of Technology. His primary research interests are in Reliability and Maintainability Engineering, Maintenance Modeling, Condition Monitoring, LCC & Risk analysis etc. Currently he is engaged in many EU Framework Projects as a Steering Board Member, Work Package Leader, or Principal Investigator. He has published over 250 papers in international Journals and made contributions to many edited books. He is one of the Chief Editors of IJSAEM, Area Editor (Europe) for International Journal of Quality in Maintenance, and is on the Editorial Advisory Board of many international journals.
