About the Editor

Dr. Thomas W. Doe is a Principal at Golder Associates with a specialty in fractured rock hydrogeology.  His practical experience includes international underground research facilities for radioactive waste disposal and groundwater flow and transport in the US, Japan, Sweden, Switzerland, and Canada.  He is also consulted in fractured oil and gas reservoirs including carbonates and crystalline rocks as well as engineered geothermal systems.  He has taught hydrogeology and geological engineering at Pomona College and the University of Washington, has served on US National Academy of Sciences panels and geo-engineering and fractured rock flow, and is a past president of the American Rock Mechanics Association.

Brian Berkowitz is a Professor at the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences, Weizmann Institute of Science. His research interests include laboratory and modeling analysis of fluid flow, chemical transport and geochemical reactions in fractured porous formations, having made major contributions to both theoretical/numerical quantification and experimental measurement of flow and chemical transport/reaction dynamics. He has served as Editor and Associate Editor of major journals in hydrology, and participates frequently in international conferences and advisory panels. Prof. Berkowitz is a Fellow of the American Geophysical Union and Geological Society of America, and received numerous prizes, including the O.E. Meinzer (GSA) and M. King Hubbert (NGWA) Awards.
