About the Editor

Steven Wright is an Associate Professor of International Relations, and an Associate Dean at the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at Hamad bin Khalifa University, Qatar. His area of research expertise is on three main areas: U.S. foreign policy towards the Gulf region, energy geopolitics, and the international relations and political economy of the Arab Gulf states. He has published widely on these areas and his work has been translated into multiple languages. He has held research fellowships at the London School of Economics (LSE), Exeter University and also Durham University. He has been an invited keynote speaker at a wide range of events hosted by leading organizations, governments, as well as several multinational corporations. He obtained his Ph.D. in International Relations from the University of Durham in 2005.

Abdullah Baabood is currently teaching at National University of Singapore, Singapore. He was a visiting professor at the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at Hamad bin Khalifa University, Qatar. Abdullah’s teaching and research interest focuses on international relations, international political economy especially on globalization and regionalism. His area focus is on the states of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) economic, social and political development and their external relations. Abdullah taught at different universities and institutions in Europe and the Gulf and held the positions of the Director of the Gulf Studies Center at Qatar University and the Director of the Gulf Research Center at the University of Cambridge. He has been invited as a keynote speaker to many international conferences and has been invited as a guest on many media programs. He obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Cambridge in 2004.
