Maria Carla GalavottiMaria Carla Galavotti is Professor Emerita at the University of Bologna and a member of the German National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina, the Pittsburgh Center for Philosophy of Science and Clare Hall College, Cambridge. She made original research contributions to key issues of contemporary philosophy of science, with special emphasis on the foundations of probability and statistics, and the nature and limits of scientific explanation. Her list of publications includes more than 150 titles.
