Zielsetzungen

Spektrum der Augenheilkunde ist eine Fortbildungszeitschrift für Ophthalmologen in Klinik und Praxis. Sie erscheint sechsmal jährlich und publiziert Übersichten (Reviews), Originalarbeiten, Editorials, Kasuistiken und Analysen über Innovationen auf dem Geräte- und Instrumentensektor. Leserbrief, Gastkommentare, Buchbesprechungen, Literaturübersichten, Produktinformationen und ein Kongresskalender ergänzen das Informationsspektrum. Spektrum der Augenheilkunde informiert somit den Augenarzt aktuell über neue Entwicklungen in Klinik und Forschung, die für seine Praxis Relevanz besitzen. Die fachliche Kompetenz der Herausgeber und des Editorial Boards garantieren eine ausgewogene inhaltliche Gestaltung.

Aims&Scope

"Spektrum der Augenheilkunde" is an educational journal for ophthalmologists. It is published six times per year and presents reviews, original papers, editorials, case studies and analyses surrounding technical innovations in ophthalmology. Letters to the editor, guest commentaries, book reviews, literature overviews, product information and a congress calendar complete the range of its contents. Thus, "Spektrum der Augenheilkunde" keeps ophthalmologists up-to-date on current developments, both practice-relevant and research-related. The editorial board and its editorial advisors guarantee the high quality of publications and a broad, well-balanced choice of published topics.

Ethical standards

Declaration of Helsinki, Informed consent, Animal rights

Manuscripts submitted for publication must contain a statement to the effect that all human studies have been approved by the appropriate ethics committee and have therefore been performed in accordance with the ethical standards laid down in the 1964 Declaration of Helsinki. It should also be stated clearly in the text that all persons gave their informed consent prior to their inclusion in the study. Details that might disclose the identity of the subjects under study should be omitted.
The maintenance and care of experimental animals, to provide human treatment and to assure reliable results, are described in the National Institutes of Health guidelines for use of laboratory animals. Authors are advised to comply with these guidelines and to acknowledge such compliance in their manuscripts.

The editors reserve the right to reject manuscripts that do not comply with the above-mentioned requirements. The author will be held responsible for false statements or failure to fulfill the above-mentioned requirements.

Conflict of interest

Authors must indicate whether or not they have a financial relationship with the organization that sponsored the research. This note should be added in a separate section before the reference list.
If no conflict exists, authors should state: The authors declare that they have no conflict of interest.
