About this book

This brief includes information on the background of and development of synthesis of various types of surface active monomers. The authors explain the importance of utilization of surface active monomers for creation of surface active polymers  and the various biomedical applications of such compounds . About the authors

Mykola Borzenkov received his Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry at Lviv Polytechnic National University, Lviv, Ukraine. The Ph.D. thesis “Synthesis and properties of surface active monomers based on derivatives of based on derivatives of hydroxy and amino carboxylic acids” were carried out under supervision of prof. Orest Hevus. At present time M. Borzenkov is a research assistant at Department of Physics at University of  Milan-Bicocca (Milan, Italy). His main research fields are synthesis and application of functional surface active monomers, synthesis, functionalization and biomedical application of gold nanoparticles.

Orest Hevus is a professor of Organic Chemistry. From 1979 to the present he has been working at Lviv Polytechnic National University. His research field is synthesis of functional surface active peroxides and monomers.
