Christian Körner

Prof. Ch. Koerner
Christian Körner is a Professor of Botany at the University of Basel (Switzerland) since 1989. He received his academic education at the University of Innsbruck (Austria). His major research interest are plant environment interactions, particularly water, carbon and nutrient relations, as well as temperature effects, with a focus on alpine ecology, treeline ecology and on unraveling the influences of elevated atmospheric CO2 on undisturbed, natural vegetation.

Joachim W. Kadereit

Joachim Kadereit
Joachim W. Kadereit is a Professor of Botany at the Johannes Gutenberg-University Mainz (Germany), where he is also director of the Botanic Garden. He received his academic education at the University of Hamburg (Germany) and the University of Cambridge (UK) and worked at Heidelberg University (Germany), the University of Wisconsin/Madison (USA) and the University of California/Davis (USA) before his appointment in Mainz in 1991. His research interests are in the systematics, phylogeny and evolution of flowering plants. His current research focus is the evolution of the flora of the Alps.
