    Aims and Scope


    The aim of this journal is the advancement and dissemination of microbiological knowledge in the  general, environmental (e.g. water, soil, cultural heritage sites), ecological, applied (e.g. food and industrial) fields. The methodology is usually derived from the fields of biochemistry, molecular biology, physiology, biotechnology and taxonomy. 

    The journal’s scope does not include medical microbiology or phytopathological microbiology.

    Papers reporting work on bacteria, fungi, microalgae, and bacteriophages are welcome.

    Submission of a manuscript implies: that the work described has not been published before (except in form of an abstract or as part of a published lecture, review or thesis); that it is not under consideration for publication elsewhere; that its publication has been approved by all co-authors, if any, as well as – tacitly or explicitly – by the responsible authorities at the institution where the work was carried out.
